Covid-19 EFT Tapping on Loneliness, Isolation, Connection

Most of us have been in lockdown for many many weeks now.  For me, it has been as of today over 58 days under strict lockdown conditions.  We have only in the past couple of weeks been allowed to move around outside between 7am - 9am to exercise whilst wearing masks and keeping social distancing.  Some countries have had less restriction and others more and yet most of us share feelings of isolation and loneliness from time to time.

Human beings are social beings and we need that connection with others to thrive.  Yet, in order to keep ourselves and our families healthy at this time of Covid-19 we must stay away from those we love and the people that bring joy to our lives...our family and friends.  

We have had to think outside of the box to socialise virtually in order to keep sane.  For most of us though, we have our immediate family living with us so we have people around us (for some this might be more than one could bare ;) but that is a blog for another time).  However, there are people that have been under lockdown all on their own that may have felt severe loneliness and isolation during this time.

Regardless of our conditions, whether we are in lockdown on our own or with others, it seems that all of us at some stage or another have longed for connection with the outside.  Longed for connection with our family and friends.  Many of us have experienced times where we feel isolated, lonely and lack of connection with our peers.

EFT Tapping Script 

Feelings of Loneliness, Isolation and Lack of Connection


This tapping script is for when you are feeling lonely, isolated and a lack of connection.  When you are feeling alone in the world and completely disconnected to all you love and know.

Connect to these feelings now and pinpoint which feeling stands out to you most.  Use this feeling as your tapping feeling.  Measure your feeling on a scale from zero - 10 (10 being the most intensity felt).

Setup Phase:
Tap on your KC point and say:

Even though I feel so lonely and destitute, I love and accept myself completely;

Even though I feel isolated and separate from everyone else, I honour my life and my emotions;

Even though I am disconnected from everyone I know and love but also the world outside and it has been so long, I completely and utterly love and accept myself.

Tapping Sequence Phase:
Tap on each Acupoint and make an authentic statement that describes your situation and feelings around isolation, loneliness and lack of connection.  

The below statements are meant to be used as a guide to get you started.  Ensure you change these statements to match your particular situation and feelings.  The more accurate and specific you are the more you will get out of your tapping work.

I am a ________________ (insert your measurement number);

I feel isolated;

I feel so separate from the world and all around me;

I feel like I exist in isolation and that the world is living and moving completely apart from me;

The loneliness is taking it's toll on me now;

I have been away from my support network for so long;

I need to feel connected to my friends;

I miss those times when I need my friends and family;

Those times when we can just meet up and laugh together;

Those times felt like the weight of the world would just melt off my shoulders;

Although times are changing rapidly now and we are forced to socialise very differently from before;

It just doesn't feel the same;

The physical distance is palpable and feels like the missing hurts, even more, when we communicate virtually;

And yet it is all we have right now;

Those little moments of being together and being easy is now no longer part of our reality;

Meeting new people seems impossible right now;

I miss the idea of being able to connect with new people randomly;

Our new realities will look very different than what we could imagine now;

I wonder what it would feel like to have my old life back;

The life where I could visit my friends and family whenever I wanted;

Do I really want my old life back?;

Are there things that I might not want back?;

I wonder what my life would be like if I could only have the things back that I enjoyed;

I wonder if there is a way to replicate those feelings I had when experiencing the things I enjoyed:

I like thinking that there might be a new way where I can feel good and feel connected to the people I love that I haven't experienced or thought about yet?;

I feel a little relieved that there are things that will never be the same again;

The things that I knew that had to change in the world but didn't understand how the change could occur;

I might even feel a bit excited to the new innovative ways that we can replicate those feelings of being connected & together in future;

These new ideas might even be invented as I tap right now...

It might even be thought up by me!

The last statements on this tapping script move to more positive statements.  Only add these or similar once you feel it is authentic and that you are ready for these statements.  This usually occurs when you are zero or close to it, on the Subjective Units of Distress Scale.

Keep tapping using authentic negative statements of your feelings and situation while moving down the measurement scale.  Make sure to stop between tapping rounds so you can keep measuring your progress down the scale.
